weaving on a simple loom

On Sunday I began experimenting with a few weaving projects and I am having so much fun!  I love the idea of using simple tools and techniques an adding interest with beautiful fibers and a bit of embroidery.  I have a few pieces already finished and waiting to be photographed for the shop!

Have you ever made a cardboard loom?  They are the easiest thing in the world and the results (with a little practice) are surprisingly good!  While I was making the small weaving above I kept saying, "This is just like a real rug!"  : )  Here is a great tutorial if you'd like to try it for yourself.

Did last night. What an inspiration you are to me. In ways that are so fun to try to learn from and with, I enjoy your blog every day, Rachel.

Inspired by your blog post and the tutorial I had a go at this myself, I love it! Can't put it down now, I sat down to to ten minutes of weaving yesterday and suddenly an hour had passed me by. I've posted about it on my blog and done a little link back to you :)
