Recipe :: Cinnamon Hot Cocoa Mix
Things are starting to feel a little bit autumnal around here - the light is more golden, the mornings are cooler, and the tree outside my window has stopped flowering. It is my habit to start getting excited about hot drinks as soon as I can tell fall is on it's way, so I've been experimenting with a new hot cocoa recipe.
I've whipped up an easy cocoa mix that is perfect to have on hand for autumn-is-here-hot-drink-cravings, or even to make in larger batches to give as homemade gifts.
To make this mix you will need:
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Mix all the ingredients well and store them in a pretty glass jar (this recipe makes enough mix to fill a pint jar).
To make a cup of cinnamon hot cocoa simply whisk 1 cup of hot milk (or soy milk, almond milk, etc.) with
1 1/2 Tablespoons of the dry mix.
It's really good! I love taking the first sip and getting the surprise of cinnamon!

Mmm should try this!
Love cinnamon in my hot chocolate, especially when there's whipped cream on top! This is a great recipe. Thanks for sharing!
