*in which I talk about my new apartment*

Love! I love our new place! After several years of living in a cookie cutter apartments I finally found one that's more my style. It's in a giant house that is 100 years old and divided into six units, each one with a different layout. That means I finally have wood floors, lots of windows and natural light, and old fashioned doors. Oh, and an outdated bathroom... but that's a trade-off I'm willing to make : )

And did I mention that it now takes me only 8 minutes to walk to the yarn shop? And 10 minutes to walk to the library? I'm in heaven!

I spent the weekend taking down the dusty old blinds (I'm not supposed to do that, but I did anyway! haha!) and sewing curtains to put in their place. I really think that nice old windows should have pretty, breezy curtains instead of dusty white blinds. The fabric in the photo below is for the kitchen curtains (still in progress because I need to get another curtain rod... finished photos to be posted later on)...

And I made a simple set of floral curtains for the living room sewn from a thrifted sheet I had in my fabric stash...

I'm planning a couple of DIY posts based on some of the projects I've been making for my own place. Meanwhile, if anyone has experience sprucing up an outdated rental bathroom I would love to hear your tips! Especially regarding less-than-lovely linoleum floors : )
