*completed ampersand mini quilt*

I finished the ampersand mini quilt yesterday! I love the way it looks... greens and blues are my favorite and they really pop against the silvery-gray background...

I like the way the free form stitches contrast with the clean shape of the ampersand... I'm not even sure how many different colors of thread I used in this piece! I made sure to include light, dark, and medium tones. The ampersand shape is outlined in black and I also used gray thread that matches the fabric to outline the design and the edge of the quilt.

Once I brainstormed the idea for this little lovely I had to do it! And once I got started stitching I couldn't stop! It's the French knots... I always get hooked on French knots : )

I'd love to do another quilt like this... do you have any favorite symbols or typography elements? I'm not sure what to make next, so I'd love to hear some suggestions!
