What time is it?

Oh!  Do not attack me with your watch.  A watch is always too fast
or too slow.  I cannot be dictated to by a watch.

That's how I feel today!

warm and sunny with a chance of baked goods

Perfect weather today, it's warm and the sun in shining and I have a bowl of sweet-smelling dough rising on the windowsill next to me!  I'm making the Melonpan (Japanese Cookie Bread) recipe from The Joy of Vegan Baking - they are little sweet bread buns that are so delicious with a morning cup of coffee.

I've also been reading this book and re-reading this book and listening to my newest favorite album ever over and over and over in order to memorize every beautiful word.

Have a nice weekend!

While I convalesce

I've been a little under the weather the past few days and have been crocheting a bit as I recover. It's a new blanket, made from my classic granny square pattern and worked in two colors.  I love the way it looks so far (and so does my cat).  More later, now it's time to nap.

live in that! - the other stifles us at the first breath.

Emily Dickinson Scarf

I'm calling this my Emily Dickinson scarf, but it's really Martha Stewart's Knitted Neck Scarf!  I wanted to take a break from the Wedgewood for a little while and knitting something in garter stitch seemed strangely appealing to me..... I am using the 2nd Time Around cotton yarn I posted about here.  Honestly, I'm a little surprised at how enjoyable this project has been and I can't wait until it's finished!  I even have a little embellishment idea in mind.

It's been a mellow weekend of farmer's market shopping, listening to a new favorite album, and re - reading an old favorite book from when I was a kid.
