And so it begins...
I'm finally starting the sweater I promised my brother a few months ago! I'm using the ribbed pullover pattern from Amy Singer's Knit Wit book. It should be fairly simple, although I always have trouble picking up stitches at the neck without making it look... messed up. I'm substituting a really soft cotton blend yarn for the wool that the pattern calls for and I love the color - a cool, ashy, brown.
It's been a while since I've started an ambitious knitting project, so I warmed up (and used up some leftover yarn) with this ice cream cozy. The pattern is also from Knit Wit and I've intended to make it every time I had leftover yarn for, oh, about two years! It turned out great, just the right size for a container of coconut sorbet!
And thanks to everyone for your nice comments about my fused-plastic bib! I really appreciate your feedback. I love visiting all of your blogs, too, and I'm glad we can share ideas and encouragment!

Rachel if you ever want to make me and Ice Cream Holder...I'll just send you the yarn. Too CUTE!
I know...that Jellyfish was way incredible, huh? My Enchiladas are almost gone! Can you say Piggy!
thank you. i love making clothes. your knitting looks really good. wish i could knit more than a few lines.
This look like it is going to be super cozy!
Your brother is a lucky guy!
I so admire anyone who can knit... I find it extremely difficult!
The fused plastic idea is on my list of things to try. Yours turned out great. I wouldn't need an ice cream holder. It gets eaten so fast there's no chance of it melting! Maybe it would keep my hand warm while I shovel the ice cream in though.
that's a real cute idea. and wonderfully implemented. :D
Love the cozy! Coconut sorbet? Yummy!...maybe I will learn to do more than the garter stitch one day ;)
what a good idea! just the other day I was bemoaning how the ice cream melts at the edges of the container. Rather than eat it out of a bowl, I ate it out of the carton and then threw away the stuff that melted. silly.
Good luck with the sweater! I love the ice-cream cozy...so practical. ;)
